Figurative Ceramic Sculpture Class Venue: Community Folk Art Center The Community Folk Art Center (CFAC) is offering a beginner to intermediate level figurative ceramics sculpture class. The eight-week course is scheduled to start May 13th and will run Tuesdays from 6:30pm-8:30pm. Your instructor, Eunjung Shin Vargas, will explore clay handling, hand building, ceramic sculpting, glazing and electric firing techniques. Everyone in the class will have an opportunity to construct several small-to-medium hollow ceramic figures. At the end of the course you will be able to keep all the pieces you have created. Register now, spaces are limited. Maximum group size is eight students to ensure that everyone taking part enjoys close personal attention from the instructor. All tools, materials and equipment are provided. The focus is on practical and creative work and your instructor will keep a close eye to help you achieve the best results. NOTE: This course involves some potentially messy processes so you are advised to wear comfortable clothes and shoes that you don't mind getting dirty. Long pants are suggested. For safety reasons please DO NOT wear flip-flops, hand accessories or flowing shirt sleeves. For more information about the class, please call the Community Folk Art Center at 442-2230.
